About Me
While I currently live in Utah, I grew up in Maryland on the edge of the Appalachians and almost constantly miss the green. I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology and received a certificate in intercultural peace building in Hawaii. This was a formative experience that helped introduce me to people from all across the world and different ways of being. After my degree in Hawaii I move to Utah and completed my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology. Becoming a healer, helper, and expert within my communities has been one of the most exciting and deeply satisfying experiences of my life. Over the past eight years I have worked with adults and young adults in private practice and university counseling center settings. In my current practice my work focuses on improving and nurturing both mental and sexual health of adult populations.
My approach in therapy is informed by many therapeutic approaches, while I draw mostly from Client Centered Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Existential Therapy. I strive to be culturally sensitive, aware, and humble in my work; providing quality care for clients of all racial, gender and sexual identity, and religious backgrounds. My clients have described me as warm, caring, skillful, and humorous. I am happy to chat with you to identify if we are a good fit before beginning therapy.
When not in therapy I can be found cooking, baking, gardening, reading, playing ice hockey, and laughing with family and friends.
